March 15, 2010 | Minimum Reprint Charge Increased to $2.50 Due to current economic circumstances, which have caused more and more people to pay their accounts late, we have increased our minimum reprint charge. And, although we've been diligent to keep our fees down, our costs incurred to operate our office have only increased over time. Specialized paper and envelopes, postage, power, wages.... All these costs have increased over the years, while we've kept our fees to a minimum. Actually, we had two choices; 1. We could have increased everyone's monthly monitoring charges to cover for the additional late payments. (After all, that's what other security companies do!) 2. We could increase the minimum reprint charge. Obviously, we chose to increase the minimum reprint charge. We did this to keep our monitoring fees the lowest in the region, saving YOU money on a monthly basis. And, we didn't feel it was fair to penalize everyone. In our minds, why should the elderly lady on social security, who pays her account on time, have to pay more? We wouldn't want our own mothers treated like that. We're sure you wouldn't want yours penalized either. | August 06, 2007 | Lightning Strikes Recently, the City of Moultrie and Colquitt County have been inundated with lightning storms. After a lightning storm, please test your security system to assure it is functioning properly. In some cases, the symptoms of a lightning strike may not show up for a few weeks. Instructions for testing your system can be found on the back of your invoice. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office at your earliest convenience. | August 06, 2007 | Telephone Lines Please be aware that during "off-hours", the local telephone provider will occassionally take down the lines for a short period of time. During this time, your alarm system may assume that someone is trying to cut your phone line. In actual fact, the telephone company has simply cut power to your telephone in order to do some routine maintenance. Generally, this happens during the early morning hours when few people are using their telephones. | March 11, 2007 | Daylight Saving Time change starting March 11 2007 Starting March of 2007, the start and end dates of Daylight Saving Time in the United States will be changed to the 2nd Sunday in March (for the start date) and the 1st Sunday in November (for the end date). This change will affect all NAPCO control panels that display the time on the keypad and include event logging (MA3000, GEM-P3200, GEM-P9600, GEM-P816, GEM-P1632 and GEM-X255 control panels). Traditionally, each spring and fall, the panel time is adjusted for DST automatically by the control panel. However, due to the new DST dates, the panels listed above will not change the time until the previous DST date. If you require your date changed, please call Dawn at 985-3321. For panels that can be changed online, there will be a minimal $10 service charge. For panels that cannot communicate online, normal service charge billing rates will apply. |
